I’ve never been a real design addict. I like beautiful things, but in daily use I’m more pragmatic. If I can make an adjustment to give something standard my own twist, I’ll do just that. When I moved into my current home I didn’t have much money so Ikea was my main supplier of furniture. I dyed the covers of my Falsterbo sofas in some vague colour red.

Years passed by and the Falsterbo and its covers were discontinued. The one arm sofa broke down, but the regular sofa remained my favourite. I got some design couch from my parents and my Falsterbo went to the study. I loved the Artiforts, but I prefered sitting on my Falsterbo. So I sold the Artiforts and the Falsterbo was back in the living. The cover had to many stains and the colour started to fade. I found out about Bemz but they did not yet provide for the older models.
But now, they do have covers for the older models. So I’ve been looking and doubting about which cover would fit my interior in the best way. I narrowed it down to about four patterns. At one moment I just picked one and then I had to wait until UPS delivered my new cover. Fortunately Bemz informed me where my cover was: first it went to Lithuania, then to Poland, and then through Germany to my home. And here it is:

While my brand new covers traveld through Europe, I saw two chairs at the sale at the local design furniture store. Since they perfectly match the colour of my cat Murphy, I decided they would be the perfect addition to my living room.

It was a gamble weather the colours of the chairs would match the cover, but Mingus was kind enough to show how the cover matches the colours of his eyes. So thanks to my cats I have nicely colour co-ordinated refurnished living room.

Just once in English for the people at Bemz.
